Join us in celebrating 175 years of ministry!

It is an exciting year at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church! In 2026, we celebrate 175 years as a congregation.
Founded in 1851 in the barn of Even O. Gullord along Coon Prairie Road, this Norwegian immigrant congregation has worshiped faithfully and continuously ever since. We give thanks for the generations who have gone before us and for God’s enduring presence among us.
Throughout 2026, we are planning several events to commemorate this milestone, with our primary celebration taking place June 12–14, 2026.

Looking Ahead

Friday, June 12, 2026 | 6:30 p.m.
An evening concert will be held at Country Coon Prairie Church featuring our church
choir performing a Norwegian cantata commissioned to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Norwegian immigration to America in 1925. All are welcome to sing with the choir. If you are interested, please contact the church for more information.

Saturday, June 13, 2026 | 2:00 p.m.
A Confirmation Reunion will be held for all who have been confirmed at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church over the years. An anniversary group photo of all confirmed members present will be taken and a reception will follow.

Sunday, June 14, 2026 | 9:30 a.m.

Following our celebratory worship service, we will gather for a catered meal at the
church, with seating at 11:00 a.m.& 12 :00 p.m. Enclosed you will find a reservation
form that you must complete for you and your family. Each meal will cost $5.00. Please complete and return the reservation form with your donation to the church by May 14, 2026. Reservations are required so we know how much food to order.

Please watch the church newsletter and other communications for additional events throughout the year as we celebrate this historic anniversary. Plans include a tile painting project to create a commemorative wall (similar to the one from our 150th anniversary), as well as anniversary ornaments, magnets, and garden flags available for purchase. Each week, we will also highlight a piece of WCP history in the Sunday worship bulletin.
