Church Office Closed-Monday, September 7^th in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend!

Noisy Offering-Our September noisy offering will be used to purchase supplies for our Pine Ridge Ministry.

Brewed Theology- Will not meet on Monday, September 7^th—Labor Day.

Adult Education- meets Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. We are reading the Bible together in a year.  You are welcome to join at any time.

September Item Collections-Continue to collect for Bethel Butikk & LWR.

• Bethel Butikk-We will continue to collect nonperishable food items and hygiene items for the food pantry. There is always a need, no matter the time of year!
• LWR Personal Care Kit items-dark color bath towel (27”x52”), bath size bars of soap in original wrapping, adult size toothbrush in original wrapping, wide tooth comb, metal nail clipper.

Pine Ridge Trip- September 9^th-14^th. Needs: tennis shoes, hand towels/wash cloths, adult & youth socks, toilet paper, diapers, bars of soap, deodorant, backpacks, bag chairs, sleeping bags, winter coats, boots, $$ for Children’s Home & projects

Sunday, September 20^th-WCP & Vang will host worship at the Vernon County Fair. Worship will be at 9:00am. We will gather at the Bob Fredrick free stage at the fairgrounds. The fair board will waive the fee to enter the grounds until 9:30am for those who will be worshiping.

Wednesday, September 23^rd-Friends in Faith will be resuming soon. This is an after-school program for those who are in K-6^th grade. Registration is coming soon! We are looking for volunteers in several areas-teachers, adults to supervise throughout the building and to help in the classrooms.

Saturday, September 26^th-The Westby Historical Society will be at Vang Lutheran Church from 10-11am to demonstrate the proper techniques for cleaning and preserving gravestones. Volunteers are needed to help clean 20 gravestones belonging to the founders of Vang.

Sunday, September 27^th-Each year WCP gives Bibles to our 3yo, 3^rd graders and incoming confirmation students (7^th graders). Bibles will be handed out during our 9am worship service. Families will be invited to attend with their child on Sunday, September 27^th.

Confirmation-Beginning Sunday, October 4^th, we will have confirmation class from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Class will be held on the 1^st and 3^rd Sunday of each month.

Youth Gathering Info-The 2027 ELCA Youth Gathering will be held in Minnesota on June 28^th - July 2^nd, 2027. Students in 8^th -12^th grade can attend this event. If you have a student in this grade group and have an interest in attending, Lizzy will have 2 brief informational meetings. At these meetings, she will have information about the gathering and answer your questions. The meeting dates are—Wednesday, September 23^rd at 5:30-6pm. and Sunday, September 27^th following worship at 10-10:30am.

WCP Palm Sunday-Rick Bakkum would like to get a group of men to join him in planning a Palm Sunday breakfast. He will have a meeting following worship on Sunday, September 13^th, for all men of WCP, to begin discussing egg bakes and side dishes for Palm Sunday 2027.

Volunteers are needed- Volunteers make our worship service run smoothly. We ask for ushers, a reader, communion prep and servers, greeters and altar flowers each week. We also offer fellowship each week to give us time to visit and enjoy refreshments with each other. If you are able to help with any of these tasks, we have a signup that gets passed around or it is on the table as you enter the church—feel free to check your schedule and put your name down, or you can call Roxie to see what is needed. We will teach you if you have never done it before!
