We are an RIC Congregation
RIC (Reconciling In Christ)

What Does this Mean?

RIC Partner Public Commitments

To be recognized as a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Partner, your faith community must:

Clearly state in its Welcome Statement a welcome to people of “all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions” or “LGBTQIA+” and name its commitment to "racial equity" or"anti-racism".

Be open to calling LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC (Black, Brown, Indigenous, Person of Color) Rostered Leaders.

Allow sanctuary/community space to be used for LGBTQIA+ weddings and blessings.

Make an annual meaningful contribution to support the national RIC Program.

Our Welcome Statement

The boundless good news of God’s grace embraces everyone. Here at Westby Coon Prairie, we invite you to be your authentic self. Scripture teaches us that Jesus’s love is for all people regardless of ability, age, education, family structure, gender identity and expression, income, mental health, physical health, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, or strength of faith. So, we welcome all to join our community in sharing the good news of Christ’s love through fellowship, worship, and praise as we work to meet the needs of our neighbors through racial equity, social, economic, and environmental justice.
