The Congregation Council provides leadership and oversight for the ministry, mission, and stewardship of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Council members also chair the congregation’s standing committees, helping each committee develop goals, coordinate its work, and report regularly to the Council and congregation.

What Does the Church Council Do?
n accordance with the congregation’s bylaws, each standing committee is chaired by a member of the Congregation Council. Committees meet regularly throughout the year and work together to:

Set goals and develop plans for their area of ministry.

Delegate responsibilities among committee members.

Bring recommendations and needs to the Congregation Council.

Identify potential budget needs and submit them to the Budget and Finance Committee.

Provide reports to the monthly Congregation Council meetings and the annual congregational meeting.
